  • Dog home boarding at our family home

Please read on below for more information on each of the services available.

Group/Paired Walks

Group walks are an excellent way of providing your dog with exercise and socialisation. Your dog is guaranteed to have lots of fun and make some four-pawed friends! Dogs are paired/grouped based on breed, age and temperament, and Amie will use her years of knowledge and experience to decide whether your dog will be a good fit.

To qualify to be a part of Auntie Amie's group walks, your dog must be sociable- this means being able to read other dogs' body language and respect other dogs' needs. They must be confident around other dogs and communicate their own desires without aggression. It would be ideal that they have been taught recall to allow them off lead to run around with the others, but this is not a necessity- Amie owns several training/drag lines to allow your dog freedom with that added bit of security.

Amie will pick up your dog at the decided time and walk the dogs at a location to suit them, which is typically a large open field nearby, or a wooded area.

Group walks are either one hour or half an hour and available both week days and weekends. This service is available to those living in Tamworth.

Solo Walks

Solo walks are suitable for those dogs that may have some extra needs that mean they can't be walked with another dog. Whether this is that your dog is nervous/reactive, or is elderly and needs to take it slow, your can be sure that your dog's needs will be accommodated to. It is important to note that Amie is not a dog trainer or behaviourist and will not provide behaviour modification for any dog, but is happy to incorporate any training techniques you are using throughout the walk.

Please note that Auntie Amie's has limited availability, particularly during the day, for solo walks as we are already almost full. Please enquire by going to the 'Contact' page to see if we can meet your requirements.

Solo walks are either one hour or half an hour and available both week days and weekends. This service is available to those living in Tamworth.

Drop-in Visits

Drop-in visits are for any type of animal. Whether you just want a visit for your dog without a walk, or you are away and would like us to attend to your small animal, Auntie Amie's is here to help.

We are happy to provide visits for dogs, cats and rodents such as guinea pigs and rabbits. Please note that Amie has never cared for birds or reptiles so does not feel comfortable offering drop-in services for these species.

Drop-in visits are either one hour or half an hour. This service is available to those living in Tamworth and the closely surrounding areas depending on availability.

Dog Sitting

Sitting in your home is perfect for those dogs who thrive on routine and struggle to acclimatise in new environments. Sitting is highly recommended by Auntie Amie's as your dog does not have to get used to a new house, and is therefore more likely to be settled while you are away.

Dog siting is charged in half days and full days. This is to make prices fair for all. This means that if you were to require sitting from after mid-day, you would only be charged half a day rather than a full day.

Half a day of sitting includes one walk and a full day includes two walks. Please note that your dog will be left alone whilst Amie is out on her regular dog walks, for no more than a few hours (Amie will drop in at lunch to check on your dog).

Dog sitting is available to those living in Tamworth and the closely surrounding areas, depending on distance. This is because Amie will not have time to travel back and forth if you live too far.

Bonus: Amie is also happy to do small tasks such as put your bin out, water your plants etc.

Dog Home Boarding

Dog home boarding is particularly ideal for those dogs who would not suit a kennel environment. Your dog will be welcomed into our loving 4-bed family home (no children) and treated as if they're our own. They will be given lots of attention and provided with the utmost care. We have a large garden for your dog to run around and they can either sleep in the kitchen or Amie's bedroom if they are well-behaved.

Auntie Amie's only takes one household at a time, meaning your dog will receive undivided attention, and their care will be fully tailored to them. As you can imagine, most dogs will be much more settled when they have their own space and aren't boarded with dogs that they don't know, especially when they are used to having their own space at home. This means you don't have to stress whether they will get along with another dog or not (Amie does not have her own dog). If your dog is sociable, they are welcome to join Amie's daily regular group walks.

Dog boarding is charged in half days and full days. This is to make prices fair for all. This means that if you were to drop-off your dog after mid-day, you would only be charged half a day rather than a full day.

Half a day of boarding includes one walk and a full day includes two walks. Please note that your dog may be left alone whilst Amie is out on her regular dog walks, for no more than a few hours (Amie will drop in at lunch to check on your dog). However, one of Amie's parents is often working from home, so can provide that extra bit of company while Amie is out.

Dog boarding is available to those living in Tamworth and the surrounding areas including, but not limited to:

  • Polesworth
  • Sutton Coldfield
  • Walsall
  • Birmingham
  • Solihull
  • Lichfield
  • Cannock
  • Nuneaton
  • Burton-on-Trent
  • Coventry

It all depends on how far you are happy to travel. We are located near junction 10 of the M42 and the A5 bypass, making getting here easy and straightforward for most.

To qualify for dog home boarding your dog must be fully vaccinated, toilet trained, not chew furniture, and able to be left alone for up to four hours. For these reasons we do not often take on dogs under the age of one year. Please be aware that our neighbours own a dog, therefore this option may not be suitable for reactive dogs.

Overnight Trial

Auntie Amie's is pleased to offer this bespoke service to new clients looking to board their dogs. An overnight trial is a non-committal service, offering the client piece of mind prior to boarding for a longer period of time. The trial is a perfect opportunity to see how your dog gets on in our home and to help them get used to the new environment. It is particularly ideal for younger pups, nervous dogs, or those that haven't stayed away from pawrents before.
